Yoora Park

This year, the Chargesheimer Scholarship for Media Art of the City of Cologne was awarded to the artist Yoora Park. To celebrate her award, she is presenting current works at the artothek - Raum für junge Kunst.

Yoora Park combines different media in her works and examines their interfaces. In particular, she relates sound in the broadest sense to analogue space as acoustic sculptures and juxtaposes them with materialised equivalents. Based on the assumption that every material body carries a specific sound, she aims to disrupt these inherent vibrations and reconstruct them as sound from the ground up. In her works, we recognise reflections on perceptual phenomena, which she takes up and artistically processes in her sound and visual installations.
