Kjubh Kunstverein is dedicating a comprehensive exhibition to the art book. Publications that have been initiated and worked on significantly by artists themselves will be shown. Whether as catalogues or artist’s books, as mass publications or in small runs—artists have continuously reassessed and redefined the book as a reproducible medium. In contrast to one-offs, the idea is that it is available for sale to a broad audience. The book does not disappear on the shelf, as it is displayed and shown. It goes from hand to hand, is leafed through, back and forth, it lies here and there, it can travel and be given as a present. Buy art as books, buy books as art.
