Brückenmusik #30: Koumé

With the restaging of the electronic composition “Koumé” by Éliane Radigue (born 1932, lives in Paris) in the form of guided concerts, the 30th Brückenmusik reenacts its very first edition in June 1995. Éliane Radigue performed her then latest electronic composition “Koumé” (1993) in front of a small audience in the cavernous space of the bridge. The piece, which Radigue had carefully developed over two years at home on her ARP 2500 synthesizer, is part of a series of electronic compositions that later became known as “Trilogie de la Mort”, which explores Buddhist ideas of life and death as the transmigration of souls. 
How Éliane Radigue’s “Koumé” combines its contemplative intensity with the lively acoustics in the hollow space of the Deutzer Brücke is now to be experienced again 30 years later in a series of guided concerts (duration 75 minutes).
